| Product description | The publication Czech Names of Seas and International Territories follows, both in content and concept, the reference work Index of Czech Exonyms (2nd, expanded and updated edition, Prague 2011). Names of oceans, seas, their parts, ocean currents and submarine features can also exist in the form of Czech exonyms (domestic forms of foreign geographical names), even though the Czech Republic is a landlocked state. In the previously published Index of Czech Exonyms, Czech forms of sea names were included only when the sea in question lay within the area of state sovereignty of a single state. The Commission on Geographical Names of the Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre has now compiled a more comprehensive list of seas for standardisation purposes and supplemented it with features located outside inhabited continents.
