ZABAGED® - altimetry - introduction

Altimetry data of the Land Survey Office provide information about space structures of the terrain relief or surface (incl. buildings and vegetation cover) of the Czech Republic, respectively. Recently Land Survey Office administers several altimetry data sets at different level of detail and accuracy.

Digital Terrain Model of the Czech Republic of the 5th generation (DMR 5G) represents the image of natural or man-modelled terrain in digital form as heights of discrete points in a triangulated irregular network (TIN) with total mean error of the height 0.18 m in an open terrain and 0.3 m in a forested terrain.

Digital Terrain Model of the Czech Republic of the 4th generation (DMR 4G) represents the image of natural or man-modelled terrain in digital form as heights of discrete points in a regular grid (5 x 5 m) with total mean error of the height 0.3 m in an open terrain and 1 m in a forested terrain.

ZABAGED® - Elevation – DMP 1G. Digital Surface Model of the Czech Republic, 1st generation represents a depiction of the territory including buildings and vegetation cover in the form of an irregular network of elevation points (TIN), with a total mean height error of 0.4 m for precisely defined objects (buildings) and 0.7 m for objects with less clearly defined boundaries (forests and other vegetation elements).
Please note that DMP 1G data are already outdated in most areas and will therefore no longer be provided from January 1, 2027. Data from the DMP OK product will continue to be provided, which is designed as a replacement for DMP 1G.

ZABAGED® - Elevation – DMP OK. Digital Surface Model of the Czech Republic from image correlation, created for the first time from data acquired in 2024, is produced using image correlation of aerial survey images primarily captured for the Orthophoto of the Czech Republic.The dataset is available in the form of a point cloud arranged in a regular grid (20 × 20 cm), in LAZ format, and as a raster with a GSD of 50 cm, generated by interpolation from the point cloud, in TIFF format.ZABAGED® - Elevation - contour lines were derived from the product Digital Relief Model 5th Generation (DMR 5G). The dataset consists of contour lines with a basic interval of 1 m, the attribute distinguishes emphasized contour lines with an interval of 5 m, in flat terrain the dataset is supplemented with additional contour lines with an interval of 0.5 m. All objects are represented by a two-dimensional vector spatial component. Altitude in the Balt height reference system after leveling (Bpv) is stored in the "HEIGHT" attribute. The dataset can be used as a basis for cartographic display of contour lines in printed and digital map works. The contour data set is not intended for the purposes of elevation analysis, for these purposes it is recommended to use DMR 4G or DMR 5G.

INSPIRE dataset - Elevation (EL) represents the digital Digital Terrain Model of the Czech Republic – 4th generation (DMR 4G) in the form according to the relevant INSPIRE Directive.

Detailed information about the products can be found in the Technical Reports that describe technological procedures for processing of the products, accuracy parameters, supposed areas of exploitation and recommended rules for their use.

ZABAGED® - altimetry  file datasets are provided in selected formats by ATOM download services as open data from 01/07/2023, free of charge under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license.
 
Another option for data distribution is the export of data slices in the Geoviewer application and WFS and ArcGIS REST services.
