Base Topographic Map 1 : 25 000 in ETRS89-TMzn

ZTM 25/ETRS89 was created in 2023 from ZTM 25/S-JTSK as an extension of the national map series to include the ZTM 25 variant in the ETRS89-TMzn plane coordinate system. It is available as print files in PDF format (CMYK) containing the complete content of the map sheet, and in raster TIFF format (RGB, 24-bit colour depth, 508 dpi, LZW compression). The distribution unit is the ZTM 25/ETRS89 map sheet. In the case of the print PDF, the map sheet size is 500 × 790 mm. In the case of the raster TIFF tile, the segment size is 411 × 522 mm. The position of individual tiles in the coordinate system is ensured by world files (TFW).

Purpose: ZTM 25/ETRS89 belongs to the national map series at medium scales. These maps are topographical in character and contain planimetry, altimetry, and map lettering. The digital form of the medium-scale national map series benefits from uniform processing for the entire territory of the Czech Republic and is used in geographical information systems, map portals, and web applications. Given the level of detail and degree of generalisation, ZTM 25/ETRS89 is particularly suitable for the study and assessment of the geographical environment in a broader context, for agendas relating to the registration, planning, and design of linear and network infrastructure, the preparation of territorial development principles, and similar purposes, typically at the level of the administrative area of a municipality with extended powers.

Maintenance note: ZTM 25/S-JTSK, from which ZTM 25/ETRS89 is derived, is updated by two principal methods — periodic update of ZTM within the ČÚZK Editorial Plan for the given year, and continuous update of selected objects on the basis of current source data. The currency of the data series corresponds to the ZABAGED® and Geonames source data at the time of commencement of preparatory work on the ZTM update within the ČÚZK Editorial Plan (in the case of ZTM 25, approximately one third of the Czech Republic territory per year). Source data with a currency of 6 July 2020, 10 October 2021, and 2 January 2023 were used for production. An update of significant planimetry features (railways and roads administered by the Road Directorate of the Czech Republic) was carried out on the basis of data with a currency of 6 January 2025.

The source data for ZTM 25/S-JTSK are the Fundamental Base of Geographic Data of the Czech Republic (ZABAGED®) and the Database of Geographical Names of the Czech Republic (Geonames). The data are processed in Esri FGDB and subsequently exported to PDF print files (CMYK) with the complete content of each map sheet and TIFF raster files in RGB colour space with 24-bit colour depth, 508 dpi resolution, and LZW compression.
